Child Labour Special School: in collaboration with CHEERS
Towards ensuring the right to every child,WE-TRUST together with CHEERS has been running 2 special schools for Children in an aim to abolish Child Labours. These schools function at different localities, V.M.T Road, Rajanga Nagar and N.M.T. Colony of Trichy District.
Every year WE-TRUST conducts a survey to find children who are been sent as child labourers and provide them an opportunity to be educated. WE-TRUST was selected for past 13 consecutive years to conduct this project together with CHEERS through the Government of Tamil Nadu. This project is headed and overseen by Trichy District Collector.
Initiatives at this venture is
- Every year on 12th of June, WE-TRUST celebrates “Anti Child Labour” Day to acknowledge and educate the public of the importance of education to every child.
- Organising NILA PALLI an awareness programme on the significance of education to make those child labourers to enroll in special schools.
